Last week, Year 5 went on a trip to Headingley and Esholt Water Treatment plants. The morning started at Headingley, where Year 5 learnt about the processes needed to make sure that each household is supplied with healthy and safe water. This included a tour around the water treatment works and activities based around how much water we use. In the afternoon we visited Esholt Water treatment plant and saw the processes needed to treat and clean the dirty water that comes from each of our houses. It was rather smelly in the afternoon but the children have learnt lots of useful information that will help us with out ‘Water’ topic.
