Nursery Pirates and Princesses Fun Day – 17th May

On Wednesday we had our end of Nursery year fun day in the theme of Pirates and Princesses.

The children and some of the parents dressed up as either a pirate or a princess.  There were lots of different activities; we had a ball pool, made our own treasure map, made a pirate hat or princess crown, played in the castle role-play or pirate ship role-play, were challenged to build a Lego pirate ship and had the chance to sit on the school rocking horse.  We all went in the hall to watch a theatre production by Satellite Arts called ‘Socktopus’, a story about a pirate and a mermaid.  We sang pirate shanties, watched magic tricks and followed the story of the disappearing socks!  We finished off having a party in the classroom with lots of food and juice.  Some of the food was kindly donated by Morrison’s Supermarket.

It was a great day!
