Year 3 Gymnastics Tournament

On Wednesday 17th December, a group of 8 children represented Wellington Primary in a gymnastics tournament at the Karmand Community Centre. These children have been working tirelessly over the last 6 weeks to put together a group routine to the song Land of 1000 Dances from the film Fern Gully. Although somewhat challenging, these very able performers created a wonderfully entertaining routine containing 7 key shapes, individual, group and partner balances, as well as a variety of leaps, jumps and rolls. Their teamwork was fantastic and the quality of the finished product was nothing short of sublime. In the end all the hard work paid off and Wellington was awarded 1st place. A huge well done to Zara Ahad, Olivia Harris, Joseph Fieldhouse, Kyle Cannar, Rebecca Myers, Summa McCarthy, Cara Norton and Eleina McFadden. Everyone there, including the judges and teachers from other schools, was so impressed with the performance and you should be proud of your efforts.
