Our U11 football teams have been representing the school at the Hanson Academy U11 Open Football League on Thursday evenings.
Wellington A started the week at the top of their league having won all their games the previous week. Their first game was a hard fought one against Fagley, which finished 1 a piece. In their second game they took on St Anthony’s who they managed to beat 1 – 0. In the final game they played Westbourne which they won 4 – 1. It was another fantastic performance by the team and they should still be around the top of the league going in to the final week.
Wellington B had also had a superb first week and started their second set of matches in second place, just behind Low Ash. They got off to an excellent start, beating Our Lady and St Brendan’s 6 – 3. Disappointingly, their opponents for the second match were a no show, which meant an automatic victory. With two wins, Wellington B should be going into the final week in a great position.
Good luck to both teams for your final set of matches and well done for representing Wellington so well.
