Unit C celebrated World Book Day with a Wizard Of Oz themed activity day!
We set the scene by watching the classic sing along version of the Wizard Of Oz, on Wednesday afternoon, with a popcorn and juice intermission.
The children came to school in a superb selection of favourite book character costumes! Thank you SO much to everyone for participating so enthusiastically. Our Year 4 fancy dress competition was very difficult to judge, but well done to our worthy winners!
It was lovely to hear the children talking about their favourite books and book characters.
Each class completed a carousel of exciting activities. We started off with some very messy Tin Man junk modelling before moving on to bake cupcakes with Wizard Of Oz toppers. We met a frightening witch in the Land Of Oz, where we made maps and wrote descriptions. Our last activity was mask making.
Great fun was had by all, today!

Fantastic to see a wide range of character costumes created by some very talented children and parents 🙂 A fun filled day was had by all. A massive thank you to everyone who donated junk for the children’s tin men models…can not wait to see the final results. Well done Wellington on another successful World Book Day.

I had such a great time, some people put A LOT of effort into getting the costumes👗 but they were all too good👍the teacher must have had a hard time deciding who the winner was😮
