Reading to Raise Money

Class 5J, at Wellington Primary School, have completed a sponsored reading challenge to raise money for a local charity, Bradford Night Stop. Pupils learnt about what it was like for young people who were forced to sleep on the streets and decided they wanted to help. After all their hard work they raised a phenomenal £463.28.

To do this they completed a challenge of reading 100 books in three weeks, surpassing the total by an extra 28 books. The pupils enjoyed the challenge and have proven themselves to be good readers and good members of the community.

The class said they look forward to raising more money in the future and helping other people in Bradford.
