Yoga – Supporting children’s physical and mental well-being
The movements practiced in yoga (called poses or asanas) are much more than just stretching. They can increase flexibility, strengthen bones and stimulate the circulatory and immune systems. Along with proper breathing, these poses or asanas also calm the mind and reduce stress which helps with overall physical and mental health.
More importantly, Yoga increases self-confidence and is great FUN!!
When participating in these yoga classes remember you are working independently, so listen carefully to instructions for your safety. Please ensure the space that you practice in is clear of obstacles and is well ventilated. There is the possibility of over stretching so please listen to your body and if something doesn’t feel right stop. You should not eat for about 2 hours before the session to avoid indigestion.
Remember you can revisit sessions to practice each week
