Children can have a cooked meal or bring a packed meal. If you are sending drinks to school with a packed meal please ensure that they are in unbreakable containers and are well sealed to avoid spillage.
School dinners are served in our separate dining room. We do encourage you to use this facility as it ensures that your child has a warm, balanced meal at lunchtime. The children are encouraged to taste everything. However if for a valid reason, your child cannot eat something please send a letter to Mrs Wood.
Bradford Council have now introduced a schools meal app, which you can download. This is a great way to get all the information that you need about school meals at Wellington Primary School. Click on the following link to find out more about how to download and use the app – School Meals App Poster

New national funding means that school meals will be FREE for all primary school children in Reception class and Years 1 and 2 from September 2014.
For children in Years 3-6, meals will be priced at £1.90.
Money for dinners should be sent separately from all other money on a Monday for the full week in a sealed, named envelope. Cheques are easier for us to handle. These should be made payable to Bradford Metropolitan District Council with your cheque card number and ‘Wellington Primary School’ written on the back. If parents wish to pay termly or half termly they may do so. Please see notice boards for current charges.
If you prefer to send your child with a packed lunch, provision has been made for a lunch box shelf in the cloakrooms. Children are asked to bring the standard sized lunch box to fit on this. Please remember that the cloakrooms will be warm and that foods can become hazardous. Sweets should not be brought. All children are provided with water, if you prefer not to send a drink.
Important note: Please remember that we are a nut free school. Please do not include any products in your child’s packed lunch that contain nuts. This includes Nutella and any other chocolate spreads containing nuts.
