In developing our approach to our school uniform, we have taken into consideration statutory guidance published by the Department for Education (DfE) in relation to uniform affordability (November 2021). Our school uniform has a key role to play in promoting the ethos of the school; providing a sense of belonging and identity; and helps set an appropriate tone for education. As a school, we have:
- Kept branded items to a minimum and limited this to low cost or long-lasting items
- Avoided frequent changes
- Made ‘pre-loved’ uniforms available and accessible for parents and carers
- Regularly take on board parents views regarding uniform
All children are expected to wear our school uniform which comprises:
- School sweatshirt/cardigan (available from the school office) OR royal blue jumper/sweatshirt/cardigan.
- Grey trousers/shorts
- Grey skirt/pinafore/trousers
- Blue and white checked dress
- White polo shirt
All the above items can be bought from local chain stores. School logo sweatshirts/cardigans can be purchased from the school office during office hours. Our ‘pre loved’ selection of uniform is also available and can be selected from the school office during office hours.
Jewellery, other than named watches, must not be brought to school. For safety reasons rings, bangles or earrings must not be worn in school.
The children are to wear their PE kit to school on the days when they do PE. This provides more time for children to be engaged with their PE lessons and also eliminates lost property issues.
There will be indoor and outdoor kits for the changes in weather. The PE kit will ensure that all children are wearing the same kit throughout school.
These kits are available locally at Matalan, Morrison’s, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda.
Please ensure that all children have a full PE kit at the start of the new term in September.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL CLOTHES AND FOOTWEAR ARE NAMED SO THAT THEY CAN BE RETURNED TO YOUR CHILD IF MISPLACED.
For children in YR to Y4 a special bag with a handle has been designed for carrying books home. These can be purchased from the school office during office hours. Children are asked not to bring other bags to school because space is limited in the cloakrooms.
In Y5 and Y6 children bring their own choice of bag, but please do not buy a very large one as space is limited.
